What is a Slop Score?
A 0–100 score for how designed your site looks. It starts at 100; each AI design tell (purple gradients, default Inter, cookie-cutter card grids, and so on) pulls it down. 60+ already looks designed; under 35 has lots of room to glow up.
What AI design tells does Unslop Me check for?
Thirteen common tells: purple or indigo gradients, the default Tailwind palette, Inter or system fonts only, emoji used as icons, glassmorphism blur, uniform icon-card feature grids, rounded-2xl on everything, a centered-everything hero, generic AI copy, default Lucide icons, a builder badge left on, low type-scale contrast, and horizontal overflow on mobile. Each one found lowers the score, and the result shows the evidence and the fix.
Why does every vibe-coded app have a purple gradient?
Because the builders share the same defaults. Tailwind's indigo and violet colors, shadcn/ui and Lucide icons fill most of the code these models learned from, so a vague prompt like "make it modern" lands on a purple-to-blue gradient hero almost every time. To fix it, pick one brand color that isn't indigo or violet, use flat backgrounds, and give your builder exact color values instead of adjectives. What does “this looks vibe coded” mean?
It means the site looks like the default output of an AI builder, not like someone designed it. People usually notice the same shared defaults: a purple or indigo gradient hero, untuned Inter type, a centered headline over three identical icon cards, emoji or default Lucide icons, and rounded corners on everything. It is the new “looks like a Bootstrap template.” The fix is the same as back then: replace the defaults with deliberate choices.
